It starts to look like a half-assed tuxedo. Better to go all the way and get yourself a tux , than to wear a bow tie with a black suit. Nice call on all points, especially the last one. I think black suits are only for certain and specific occassions. I do not consider black a good color for an office work or professional setting and I do not prefer black dress shirts, even for going out.
